Experience the Taste Eden Wine Room in the Eden Valley

Discover the brilliance of Taste of Eden, located in the picturesque high country; Eden Valley. This cellar door acts a showcase for those wineries who don’t have their own cellar door. With over 80 wines on display for purchase, the Taste of Eden currently sells 14 family-owned brands from the Eden Valley. Alongside that, they also offer both wine and chocolate tastings and are known for their iconic listing of over 30 Riesling wines. Their wine tasting list is updated every Monday ensuring that no matter when you go, you’ll be tasting a different wine each time!

The cellar door itself is housed in a beautiful stone cottage surrounded by roses and shaded canopies so that you can enjoy a scrumptious platter of regional meats, cheese and wine in the cool summer air. For those cooler months, bask in the warmth of the log fire inside the cottage over a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

What separates Taste Eden from other cellar doors is that if you please, your winery experience can be continued with an in-depth look at the wines offered through a masterclass where your education of the grapes and techniques will be explained to you.

Each year, Taste Eden holds their Spring Wine Festival where the wines are put on display with the creators of each brand coming out for this springtime occasion. There are vintages on show, as well as newer creations and limited-edition bottles. This will be alongside Chef Stuart Oldfield’s tasteful delights as he whips shared platters for you to nibble on. There will be live music on throughout the day, and the event which is in its 5th year of running now is set to be a highlight of the Eden Valley events calendar.

Why should you visit Eden Valley?

Eden Valley is a small town located in the prestigious Barossa Valley, beloved for its rolling hillsides and its own impressive vineyards. The picturesque scenery alone is enough to bring visitors to its red gum rimmed doorsteps, however, if you need some more motivation, allow us to convince you!

Eden Valley, which got its name by surveyors who found the name ‘Eden’ carved into a tree in the area, is known to locals as the Garden of Grapes and Gums, and this is a perfect way to describe the miniscule town. With wineries housed in historic buildings where you can taste some of the best cool-climate wines in the region and accompaniments of cheese and chocolate calling your name, you will quickly fall in love with this sleepy town. While you’re in Eden Valley, why not visit the Lillefield Gallery for a glance at artwork completed by local artists lovingly curated in a heritage site. For a closer look at the native wildlife, head to the Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park where you can observe the kangaroos in their natural habitat.
