The Barossa Valley has over 150 wineries and there are over 80 cellar doors you can visit and taste some of the best Barossa wine. The Barossa Valley is known for producing some of the best shiraz in the world.
1. Château Tanunda
Château Tanunda has one of the most iconic buildings for a winery. You can do different types of experiences like wine tastings and a tour of the winery.
The Château Tanunda has had many award winning wines and new releases every year.
2. Kies Family Wines
The Kies Family Wines has been run by the family for six generations! Pop into the cellar doors and taste test a range of different wines. You can expect to try a sparkling rosè, a lighter red or even a big Barossa red, or if you prefer there are sweeter wines and fortified.
Besides the cellar door, there is also the Monkey Nut Cafe where you can order a wine flight and platter or create your own platter! There is also a standard menu with delicious food, wine, and other drink options.
3. Seppeltsfield
Seppeltsfield cellar door has a range of experiences and tours you can do. A unique and rare experience you can do is try a wine from your birth year! Or you can try the vintage tawny right out of the barrel.
There is also Octeine Coffee which is a coffee shop where you can taste Seppeltsfield coffee. There are light lunch options available, and you can enjoy a food platter with a Seppeltsfield wine.
4. Hentley Farm
You can sit down in the 1840s cottage and indulge in a wine tasting with some of the best wines from Hentley Farm. You can also dine at Hentley Farm and taste high quality food which has won awards over the years.
Making a reservation for a wine tasting and dinner is essential. It’s worth the visit to taste the delicious estate wines and food!
5. Jacob’s Creek
Enjoy a tasting experience of the delicious Jacob’s Creek wines from over the years that have won many awards. You can try wines from a light and fresh white wine, or a fruity bold red wine.
You can even stay at Jacob’s Creek in the cottage which is within walking distance to Jacob’s Creek!
6. Rockford Wines
Rockford Wines has some of the best traditional Australian wine you can get in the Barossa Valley. Visit the cellar door and taste a range of white, red, and fortified wines and you can also purchase the bottles.
The Barossa Valley is over an hour’s car ride from Adelaide where you can spend a weekend getaway in the region or a day trip! Experience the Barossa rolling hills and taste in the award winning wines.
